Public Holidays Change With Location

Public holidays are ones that are celebrated by all federal employees in a country. Other organizations, such as schools, or businesses can also choose to have these days off as well. The holidays generally occur on the same date every year, though depending on what the day is, it may change. For example, countries that choose to have Good Friday as a public holiday would see it change from year to year depending on when Easter falls.  This holiday in 2013, for example, would fall on Mar. 29th whereas this year it will fall on April 22nd.  And of course the major holidays in different countries are bound to vary. Australia has an “Australia Day” which is quite unlikely to be made a public holiday in any other country due to its nature. The same is true for the United States Independence Day and Canada Day in Canada.  Depending on which country you are interested in, you may find different and unique holidays to greet you.
